Perez Hilton hospitalized after reports he livestreamed self-harm, sheriff’s officials say - NBC News

Celebrity blogger and podcaster Perez Hilton was "receiving medical care" as of Wednesday after police responded to his Miami-area home over reports he appeared to self-harm during a livestream, according to his team, family, and sheriff's officials.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office said deputies responded Tuesday night to reports of someone "livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media," and later confirmed the person was "safely recovered" and taken by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a hospital.
Deputies spoke with family members at the scene who confirmed the individual had been alone inside the residence.
The video, streamed on TikTok before the platform removed it, appeared to show Hilton covered in blood with visible cuts and holding what looked like a knife, as viewers pleaded with him and sought his phone number to alert authorities.
In statements posted on Hilton's website, his team and family expressed gratitude for the "overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers," asked for privacy, and said Wednesday night that Hilton "is able to communicate, which has given our family hope."
Dante Rusciolelli, CEO of Golden Artists Entertainment, the talent management firm representing Hilton, said the company had no additional confirmed information about his condition and reiterated a focus on his health, recovery, and privacy; Hilton had recently returned to his native Miami after living in Las Vegas.
