Selena Gomez Fraud Lawsuit Is ‘Completely Meritless,’ Says Star’s Lawyer - Yahoo

Selena Gomez's attorney, Mathew S. Rosengart, called a new fraud lawsuit against the star "completely meritless, both factually and legally," in a statement to People on Saturday, and said the team is filing a motion to dismiss.
The suit, filed Thursday by Wondermind SRS 44 LLC and Bespoke Wondermind LLC, accuses Gomez, her mother Mandy Teefey, and co-founder Daniella Pierson of defrauding investors in the mental health startup Wondermind.
Investors allege the trio made false representations about the business, including claims that Gomez would be "intimately involved" in operations, with the lawsuit seeking roughly $1.2 million in damages.
According to the complaint, Gomez purportedly signed a contract to perform and then ignored it, while promised partnerships and initiatives never materialized and the app was never built as the company "quietly collapsed."
The lawsuit contends investors were not informed of management problems, such as employees not being paid on time, until The Cut reported on the startup's working conditions last year.
Wondermind was launched in 2021 as a platform for daily mental health conversations, tools, and community, and Teefey also denied the allegations in a statement given Friday to the New York Times.
