Box Office: 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' $168M+ U.S. Record Opening Day - Deadline

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, from Sony and Marvel Studios, opened with an estimated $355M in North America, narrowly missing Avengers: Endgame's record $357.1M three-day debut, though some rivals project it could still reach $358M–$360M+ after Sunday.
The film shattered Sony's own studio opening record, previously held by 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home at $260.1M, marking a landmark achievement for the studio's Motion Picture Division.
It set an all-time attendance record in the EntTelligence era (which began in October 2020), drawing 24.1 million moviegoers and surpassing No Way Home's prior record of 20 million.
The movie's Saturday gross of $101.5M was the second-best ever behind Endgame's $109.2M, and advance ticket sales reached $100M by Tuesday, higher than earlier reported figures.
Sony chairman and CEO Tom Rothman, a longtime champion of theatrical moviegoing, said the creative team—including Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, and Tom Holland—chose to go "deeper" rather than bigger, crafting a character-driven story centered on friendship and hope.
Producer Amy Pascal, who originally launched the Spider-Man franchise as Chair of Columbia Pictures, praised the film, while Rothman highlighted its emotional resonance for audiences worldwide during troubled times.
