Anne Hathaway Says ‘Movies That Kill Dogs Should Automatically Be Rated R’ - Variety

During the press tour for her new film "The End of Oak Street," Anne Hathaway told Complex that movies featuring the death of dogs should automatically receive an R rating, regardless of language or violence.
Hathaway pointed to the "John Wick" franchise as the source of audience anxiety, noting she has seen numerous comments from viewers worried her film might kill its dog character, Starbuck.
She reassured fans that while the movie "breaks rules," harming the family's canine will not be one of them, telling audiences "Don't worry."
In "The End of Oak Street," Hathaway plays matriarch Denise alongside Ewan McGregor, with the pair portraying parents who must protect their family from dinosaurs after their suburban street travels back in time millions of years.
The Warner Bros. tentpole was directed by David Robert Mitchell, known for "It Follows" and "Under the Silver Lake," with J.J. Abrams serving as producer.
The film is currently playing in theaters nationwide, following a trailer that introduced Starbuck and sparked speculation about the dog's fate.
