3M Open: Rookie Jackson Koivun holds nerve to beat Scottie Scheffler for first PGA Tour win - BBC

American rookie Jackson Koivun captured his first PGA Tour title at the 3M Open, defeating world number one Scottie Scheffler by three strokes to finish on 25 under par.
The 21-year-old was competing in just his third event since turning professional, having recently helped Auburn win the US college championship for the second time in three years.
Koivun surged into a three-shot lead with a 10-under 61 on Saturday, then extended his advantage to five during the final round at TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota.
Scheffler mounted a late charge with three straight birdies to open the back nine and two more in his closing three holes, carding an eight-under 63, but the four-time major winner fell short.
Koivun steadied himself under pressure, making birdie at the 16th before finishing with a five-under 66, later admitting he heard the crowd repeatedly warning him "Scottie's coming."
Denny McCarthy, Brian Harman, Chandler Phillips and Japan's Hideki Matsuyama tied for third at 20 under, while Michael Kim's Friday 59 was undone by weekend rounds of 70 and 69, leaving him tied for 10th.
