Ariana Grande Exits West End’s ‘Sunday in the Park with George’ Revival Amid Tour - Deadline

Ariana Grande has withdrawn from next summer's West End revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sunday in the Park with George, forgoing what would have been her stage debut in the Marianne Elliott-directed production.
The exit means Grande will not reunite with her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey, with whom she had been set to co-star; the pair's involvement was confirmed by Empire Street Productions and London's Barbican Centre, with a summer 2027 opening planned.
A representative said Grande will "take a step back from visibility" for a "much-deserved break" after completing her Eternal Sunshine Tour, citing ongoing public scrutiny while noting she loved every minute of the tour.
The tour, a 41-show run, kicked off June 6 in Oakland, California, and is scheduled to conclude September 1 at London's O2 Arena; producers had held off on ticket sales until after its conclusion.
The announcement follows the release of the music video for "Petal," the title single from Grande's newly released eighth studio album, which sparked speculation about her physical health.
A source indicated Grande still "cannot wait to support the brilliant team" behind the project, and producers plan to continue the musical without her; she also recently exited American Horror Story Season 13 due to tour scheduling conflicts.
