Ella Langley says 'Choosin' Texas' success is 'changing my life' after her song breaks Mariah Carey's record - Fox News

Ella Langley's country hit "Choosin' Texas" made Billboard Hot 100 history this week, logging its 23rd week at No. 1 and surpassing Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" for the longest reign atop the chart.
Langley celebrated the milestone in an Instagram video posted Tuesday night, saying she struggled to find words and joking that the achievement felt fake, as if someone would tell her it had all been a prank.
She described the song's success as "changing my life," adding that it was also transforming the lives of the song's writers and her family and creating a foundation for a lasting career.
In a resurfaced March interview with Billboard, conducted while the song was still climbing the charts, Langley said she had always known the track would be the lead single but never anticipated it would perform at this level.
Langley credited her fans for the song's rise, noting the ownership listeners had taken over the track and its reach across different demographics, remarks she has echoed at events including the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
The song's dominance has also drawn commentary from other artists, with Langley previously appearing to respond to a critical take from Doja Cat about her chart-topping hit.
