New Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 Features Revealed - MacRumors

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman outlined expectations for the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, which are set to be unveiled on September 9.
Despite earlier rumors of Touch ID coming to the Apple Watch, Gurman does not anticipate any major design changes compared to the current Series 11 and Ultra 3 models.
A ceramic case option is expected to return for the Series 12, with Apple reportedly testing white and dark gray finishes reminiscent of the high-end Series 3 from 2017.
Gurman expects more incremental updates, including faster performance from an S11 chip or newer—the first meaningful speed boost in years, since the Series 11 and Ultra 3 shared the S10 chip used in prior models.
Health and fitness tracking improvements are anticipated, including a heart-rate sensor that continuously collects data throughout the day, plus revamped Health and Fitness apps offering more wellness metrics similar to Whoop and Oura.
No Apple Watch SE 4 is expected this year, while a "big redesign" is reportedly a year or two away, and Apple continues developing a blood sugar detection feature targeted for release by 2030.
