My Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ongoing Review Living With Samsung’s Passport Foldable - CNET

Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 is a passport-sized, book-style foldable with a 4:3 aspect ratio and compact build, offering a distinctly different form factor from most current phones, according to CNET's hands-on impressions.
The device features a 5.5-inch cover display suited for everyday tasks like texting and email, plus a 7.6-inch inner display designed for scrolling, video and multitasking in both landscape and portrait orientations.
Pricing starts at $1,900, and the phone includes two 50-megapixel rear cameras (with no telephoto lens) and a 4,800-mAh battery supporting 45-watt wired and 20-watt wireless charging.
The Z Fold 8 opens for preorder ahead of an August 7 release, and reviewer Abrar Al-Heeti has been testing it following Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event in London.
Al-Heeti highlights that photos appear more immersive on the larger inner display, filling the screen whether captured vertically or horizontally, and notes the phone's dimensions roughly match a standard passport.
The design of the earlier Galaxy Z Fold 7, which earned a CNET Editors' Choice Award, continues in a separate model called the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, while a fuller review of the Z Fold 8 remains forthcoming.
