Hayden Panettiere’s Mom Blasts Gayle King After CBS Host Criticizes Her Reaction to Daughter’s Death - The Hollywood Reporter

Lesley Vogel, mother of late actress Hayden Panettiere, publicly criticized CBS Mornings host Gayle King and podcaster Megyn Kelly for their remarks following her daughter's death, telling the Daily Mail she felt "very, very hurt and deeply disappointed" by their "lack of professionalism" and compassion.
Vogel emphasized that no one from the shows reached out to her beforehand, calling the commentary "shameful" and "unconscionable" toward someone who has lost two children.
Panettiere, known for roles in Heroes, Nashville and the Scream franchise, died at age 36; her brother Jansen Panettiere had also previously died.
In a Tuesday NBC News interview, Vogel criticized her daughter's on-again, off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson, who was with Hayden at her death, and said her daughter "sadly lost her way" and "wish[ed] she had stayed true to herself."
On Wednesday's CBS Mornings broadcast, King responded, "Thanks, mom, for nothing," expressing sadness that Vogel chose to focus on Hayden's struggles after her death.
Megyn Kelly went further on The Megyn Kelly Show, telling Vogel "You got an F as a parent" and calling her a "loser," accusing her of profiting from her daughter while failing to raise someone who felt safe and loved.
