‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Announcer Jim Thornton Suspended, Role Recast - Deadline

Sony Pictures Television has suspended "Wheel of Fortune" announcer Jim Thornton and is temporarily recasting his role while it conducts an investigation.
The decision followed allegations tied to an incident on an American Airlines flight in May, though specific details of what occurred have not been made clear.
A studio spokeswoman said they were recently made aware of allegations concerning Thornton and that the recasting is temporary pending a thorough investigation.
The story was first reported by TMZ, which said a passenger complained to a flight attendant about Thornton, who was allegedly wearing a "Wheel of Fortune"-branded top onboard.
American Airlines confirmed that Flight 1276 was met by law enforcement upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport on May 14 following concerns reported by a customer onboard.
Thornton has been the show's announcer since 2011, working on more than 2,200 episodes, and has also announced "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune" on ABC since 2021, "The Price Is Right," and voiced shows including "Celebrity Deathmatch" and "The Cleveland Show," after earlier anchoring L.A. news radio station KNX 1070.
