Russian attacks kill 14 as Ukraine hits Black Sea oil tankers - BBC

Russian drone and missile attacks across Ukraine overnight into Wednesday killed 14 people, according to local officials, with three deaths each in Odesa, the north-eastern city of Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia in the south.
Regional head Oleh Kiper said the "massive" strike on the Black Sea port of Odesa—the fifth day Russia has hit the region—struck a multi-storey residential building, a non-residential building, and a gas pipeline; Russia's defence ministry said it deliberately targeted port infrastructure used for petroleum products.
Ukraine said its drones struck 20 Russian vessels, including 17 oil tankers, in the Black Sea overnight, part of intensified attacks that have forced Russia to restrict shipping in the Sea of Azov, a route handling about a quarter of its grain exports.
Recent Russian strikes have focused on Ukraine's deep-water Black Sea ports around Odesa, which handle much of the country's grain and cargo and are vital to its wartime economy.
The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission reported at least 293 civilians killed and 1,990 injured in Ukraine in June, with long-range weapons causing 45% of deaths, mostly in urban centres such as Kyiv and Dnipro far from the front line.
A major government reshuffle is under way, with President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissing Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko after less than a year in post; parliament accepted her resignation on Tuesday despite some lawmakers questioning the rationale, with Naftogaz head Serhiy Koretskyi seen as a likely appointee.
