Trump envoys Witkoff and Kushner meet with Putin about ending the Ukraine war - Axios

Trump envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss ending the war in Ukraine, according to Axios.
Russia paused airstrikes to facilitate the negotiations, creating a temporary window for diplomatic engagement.
The two envoys are expected to travel to Kyiv on Sunday as part of their broader effort to advance the peace process.
Witkoff and Kushner secured an agreement from both Russia and Ukraine to observe a short pause in airstrikes, allowing the planned trip to proceed.
The dual-track diplomacy, with meetings involving both Moscow and Kyiv, signals an active push by the Trump administration to broker an end to the conflict.
