D4vd's Texts Show He Got Celeste Rivas Hernandez Pregnant at 13, Talked Her Through Abortion: LAPD - Rolling Stone

Los Angeles police presented text messages in court on July 24, 2026, alleging that singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, exchanged messages with Celeste Rivas Hernandez about an abortion she reportedly had in January 2024 when she was 13.
The messages, recovered from a phone in Burke's Los Angeles home, were accompanied by what investigators described as a large collection of child sexual abuse material involving Rivas, including images allegedly depicting sex acts at Burke's residence.
Burke is accused of killing Rivas on April 23, 2025, after she allegedly threatened to disclose the abuse; prosecutors say he later dismembered her body with a chainsaw inside a blue inflatable pool in his three-car garage. He has denied the allegations.
Detective Corey Farell testified as the prosecution's final witness at a hearing to determine whether Burke should stand trial, reading messages aloud and describing images prosecutors said were too graphic to display in court.
Rivas' mother, Mercedes Martínez, cried in the gallery during testimony about one photo and left the courtroom in tears with the teen's father, Jesus Rivas; Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman comforted her.
The messages, spanning November 2023 through April 2025, showed Rivas repeatedly feared she was pregnant, with one late-November 2023 message reading, "Currently manifesting my period bc I refuse to have kids," while Burke allegedly urged her to track her cycle.
