Van-Pantoja rematch will headline UFC 331 in September - ESPN

A flyweight title rematch between champion Joshua Van and Alexandre Pantoja will headline UFC 331 on Sept. 19 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, officials announced Thursday.
Van (17-2) captured the 125-pound championship with a first-round TKO over Pantoja (30-6) in December, though the outcome was clouded when Pantoja suffered a freak elbow injury in the opening seconds after bracing his fall on the mat.
Van has repeatedly sought a rematch to erase any doubt about his reign, and has already made one successful title defense, beating Tatsuro Taira in May.
The co-main event is a five-round lightweight bout between Arman Tsarukyan (23-3) and Mauricio Ruffy (14-2), pitting the division's No. 2 and No. 7 ranked fighters against each other.
Tsarukyan, 29, is widely regarded as the top lightweight title contender, riding a five-fight win streak and holding a 10-2 UFC record, though he hasn't fought since a submission win over Dan Hooker in November; he withdrew from a January 2025 title shot against Islam Makhachev due to back spasms.
Ruffy, a Brazilian prospect who is 5-1 in the UFC with four knockouts, is viewed as one of the division's most dangerous emerging threats.
