Nick Chubb retires from the NFL - NBC Sports

Running back Nick Chubb, a four-time Pro Bowler, announced his retirement from the NFL in a farewell post on Friday night, as reported by NBC Sports' Mike Florio on August 21, 2026.
A second-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in the 2018 draft, Chubb played seven seasons in Cleveland and one with the Houston Texans.
Over his career, he rushed for 7,349 yards and 54 touchdowns, averaging 5.0 yards per carry.
His standout year came in 2022, when he ran for 1,525 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Chubb's momentum was halted by a serious knee injury against Pittsburgh during a Week 2 Monday night game in 2023, which ended his season; he returned to start eight games in 2024.
In his final season with the Texans, Chubb rushed for 506 yards across 15 games, concluding his career in a divisional round playoff matchup against the New England Patriots.
