Explosions in Iran as US launches new strikes - Al Jazeera

US Central Command reported completing its 11th consecutive night of air strikes against Iran, saying the operation aimed to degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
CENTCOM said US forces struck Iranian military operations centres, maritime capabilities, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities, and military logistics infrastructure in the late Tuesday assault.
Explosions were reported across multiple regions, including areas around Tehran, Bushehr and Sirik in southern Iran, near Behbahan and Omidiyeh in Khuzestan province, and a military site outside Tabriz in the northwest, struck at about 2:40am local time Wednesday.
The targeting of Tabriz and areas near Tehran marked a shift from the recent pattern of strikes, which had largely concentrated on southern Iran and the Strait of Hormuz region.
In retaliation, Iran's military said it struck US-linked sites in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, including drone attacks on ammunition depots and a ground forces command centre at the Doha garrison in western Kuwait.
Al Jazeera correspondents reported air defence systems activating in eastern Tehran, while Iranian officials stated there had been no direct attacks on the capital as of that time.
